There's all kinds of exploring to do on the other side of the gate into Butterfly Hollow. Flowing through the foothills and into our closest small town of Carthage, is the Cumberland River. River Paddle boats and fishing boats travel the river that eventually winds it way past the shores of Nashville. The river also creates the beautiful Cordell Hull Lake a few miles down stream. A couple minutes to our south lies the picturesque Center Hill Lake and Caney Fork River, which twists and turns across the Cumberland Plateau.
The Caney Fork River is said to have the best trout fishing this side of the Mississippi. Picture yourself on a summer afternoon floating lazily down a river. There is a canoe rental and outfitter close by to drop you off and pick you up. If you really want to catch a FISH....like a 40-50lb Striper, your hosts can help arrange for a day or half day with a local fishing guide.
For you Antique lover's we have created a little treasure map that will take you along the back roads and through the country side to over dozen antique shops. The map will take you to quaint little towns like Gordonsville and Watertown and eventually lead you to the square in historic Lebanon. There's a suggestion or two along the mapped journey for restaurants and cafes. Your hosts can also pack a lunch and picnic for your adventure. READ MORE>

The hollow is close enough to Nashville... but far enough away. You're only 50 minutes from Music City USA. Spend the day being lazy in hammock in the hollow and make an evening to remember listening to some of the best country music at the Grand Ol Opry.
The Cumberland Plateau is home to several wilderness areas and natural parks spread across the mountains. The newest national park The Big South Fork can also be found here, with over 150 miles of hiking trails, more than 100 miles of horse back riding and mountain biking trails and about 80 miles of navigational white water for rafting, canoeing and kayaking. Fall Creek Falls State Park, Savage Gulf Wilderness Area, and several other state parks are also within an hours drive.
For you horse lovers... Ace and Apache are here waiting to loved and groomed. There is nothing more beautiful then watching a hillside of horses gently graze and stroll. We often have them in our barn area and they love to be groomed and brushed. If the smell of a horse is not enough and you feel the urge to saddle up, the Cedars of Lebanon State Park has a wonderful stable, miles of beautiful trails and is less then 20 minutes away.
