Directions to Butterfly Hollow

From Nashville, follow I-40 East to Exit 254. Turn right at the top of the exit ramp towards Alexandria. Drive 100 ft and turn left onto Colonel Bernie S Bass Hwy (Highway 141/53 North). You'll drive a short mile through the unincorporated community of New Middleton and take the first road on your left, which is Mulherrin Road. Look for the white fence around a red brick home. If you cross the Woodrow Wilson Winfree Bridge or the New Middleton Elementary School, you've passed the road. Drive 1 3/4 miles on Mulherrin Road back under the interstate and through some beautiful farm country. You'll make your way up a small hill and around a sharp "blind" curve, cross a small bridge and a few feet later turn right on to Dyers Branch Road. Look for the a red barn with two small steel silos on the corner. Drive exactly 2 miles and turn right onto Bussell Lane. There is a wooden butterfly hanging on a post next to the road sign and a white house with black shutters on the corner when you turn. You'll drive through our neighbors farm, probably will be escorted by a friendly dog part of the way. You'll pass a falling down barn or two. Look for the old farm truck with weeds growing up through the cab. As you wind your way into the hollow the road will narrow a little more, the forest will engulf you as you make your way to our gate and Butterfly Hollow sign. (Please respect our guest's privacy and turn around at the gate if you do not have a reservation or an appointment.)

From Knoxville, follow I-40 West to Exit 254. Turn left at the top of the exit ramp heading towards Alexandria. Pick up directions from above.

From Murfreesboro, follow Highway 96 North towards Liberty. Turn left on Highway 70 heading towards Alexandria. Turn Right onto Highway 53. When you begin seeing signs for I-40, look for Highway 141/53 North on the right. Pick up directions from above.

" I can't begin to tell you how much this weekend has meant to us. The both of you have such sweat spirits. And it shows not only in your eyes, but in this beautiful home you have shared with us. If there is a placed called "Heaven on Earth", surely this must be it. The world just seemed to melt away, and for us it came at a time when we needed it most! Thank you for making this weekend so special for us!
