News & Updates from Butterfly Hollow

Smith County Business Spotlight

Butterfly Hollow is a premier wedding venue nestled in Gordonsville that has been hosting gorgeous gatherings for over a year. Butterfly Hollow prides itself in its beautiful 82 acres equipped with a full bed and breakfast, hillside gazebo, floral garden, and rustic barn. Not to mention the amazing views of the Cumberland Plateau ridge, spring fed pond, and 3 miles of walking trails. This place truly has it all. It’s the perfect spot for an intimate, rustic, yet elegant wedding ceremony.

The folks at Butterfly Hollow can take care of your entire day with their “turn-key” packages or allow you to do all the planning with your own vendors. Want to do your own planning but don’t know where to start? No problem, they have a list of recommended vendors to narrow down your search. The bed and breakfast allows you to relax and enjoy the entire estate on your big day, and also provides lodging for your out of town guests or wedding party.

The convenience offered is unlike your typical venue. With only one wedding booked per day, you and your guests will have all 82 acres to yourself. Packages are available for weekdays and weekend events. Featured Venue

Thank you to Tracy Brewington and Tracy Brewington Photography for featuring our bed and breakfast in her recent blog as a featured wedding venue in the Nashville area.

Butterfly Hollow is a secluded location that is perfect for an elopement outside of the Nashville area. The bed and breakfast is located on 82 acres, and you feel like you are in the middle of nature. We heard hawks, saw an owl, and saw several rabbits while photographing at this location.  It is tucked into the Cumberland Plateau foothills, Butterfly Hollow is a short 45 minute drive east of Nashville Tennessee .

It is truly a secluded slice of heaven, the porch holds several hammocks and swings. If you are planning an elopement or intimate wedding, I would recommend checking them out.

A day in the life

AdayinthelifeHappy Hump Day! In the B&B business not sure Wednesday can be classified as our “middle of the week” but for most of you it is the traditional term used to signify the day you get over the hump of your work week. With several of our guests visiting over the weekend, we do celebrate TGIF with open arms!

Our recent recognition by vacationidea.com as a top 20  weekend getaway in Tennessee has brought an increase in phone calls asking for information. The biggest question being asked is “What is there to do?”. Of course our immediate response is RELAX. With 82 acres of solitude, birds signing all around you, 3 miles of walking trails, and plenty of areas to cuddle up and take a nap what more could one ask for?

For those staying with us over multiple days, there is plenty to do within an hour or two drive. If its listening to live music in downtown Nashville, canoeing down the Caney Fork River, enjoying waterfalls in the eastern part of our state, sippin’ wines at one of the multiple Tennessee wineries, or soaking up some sun on near by lakes, we are centrally located to enjoy any one of these activities as a day trip.

We love helping our guests create memorable times here at Butterfly Hollow and would love to have you stay with us if you are looking for just an overnight getaway, an anniversary trip, family reunion or week long vacation. Our weekends do fill up quickly so planning a few months in advance is highly recommended. Or better yet celebrate your Hump Day in conjuntion with our Monday Blues.

Danielle Bradbery films “The Heart of Dixie” in Butterfly Hollow

Danielle Bradbery films “The Heart of Dixie” in Butterfly Hollow
If you are familiar with NBC’s music talent show called The Voice, then you will most certainly recognize the name Danielle Bradbery. She is the talented, young winner from season four who was coached by Grammy nominated, music vocalist of the year, Blake Shelton. When Danielle’s record company sent out a search party to find a hidden, remote, retreat to film the video for her first single – “Heart of Dixie” … guess where they came?

Danielle_bradbery_music_videoOne morning this summer the little winding country lane that leads to Butterfly Hollow suddenly became congested with cars, people, trucks, vans, old cars on trailers, camera crews, hair and makeup artists, actors, directors, producers, assistants and of course, Danielle Bradbery along with her sister Monica and best friend Haley. They spent the entire day and night in the hollow filming the music video for “the Heart of Dixie”. The director, Shane Drake was able to capture some of the most beautiful elements of this magical place in a way that often can only be felt and not seen.

We are honored to have Butterfly Hollow as the backdrop to “The Heart of Dixie”.
