Bed & Breakfast Policies

Minimum Stay Requirements:
Weekends that include either a Friday or Saturday night typically require a two-night stay. Occasionally, exceptions can be made. Please call or email for details or available dates.

Check-in and Check-out:
Check-in time is 3:00pm. If you will be arriving after 6:00pm please call so we can explain our late check-in process! Check-out time on the day of your departure is 10:00am.

Reservation Deposits:
Upon making a multi-night reservation your first night room and tax will be charged to your credit card. This deposit will hold and guarantee your reservation. The remaining balance will be due 7 days prior. One night reservations will be charged in full, including tax.

Reservations made within 30 days of arrival will be charged in full. Please note you may see two charges as our system collects your first night deposit and then a second charge for the remaining balance.

Cancellations:
Should you have to change or cancel your reservation for any reason, we require at least 7 days’ advance notice. With the required amount of notice, we will refund your deposit, less a 10% cancellation fee. For reservations cancelled within 7 days of your reserved arrival date, you will be charged the full amount of the reserved stay, unless we are able to re-book your room. If we are able to re-book your room, we will refund the re-booked portion, less the 10% cancellation fee.

Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly, and we do not over-book, as large hotels do. We must enforce our cancellation policy. The only exceptions are if the airport you are traveling through is closed or if state police along your driving route are recommending that people stay off the roads due to significant weather conditions. Otherwise, we expect you to honor your reservation. If you are worried about having to cancel for any reason, we recommend you purchase travel insurance through a third party for your own financial protection.

Smoking Policy:
OUR INN IS A NON-SMOKING INN. This includes smokeless tobacco and electronic cigarettes. Smoking is not permitted on our grounds. Those choosing to disregard our policy will be asked to leave without refund, and a $100 cleaning fee will be charged to the credit or charge card on file, as well as an extra night’s charges, if necessary, in order to air the room or clean the property to make it acceptable for incoming guests.

Children:
Our Bed and Breakfast is not appropriate for young children for overnight accommodations. Our intimate setting and farmhouse design may not be suited for children under twelve. Well-behaved children over the age of twelve are welcome in our home, however we do not provide a special children’s menu at breakfast.
If you are reserving a wedding package children of all ages are welcome to attend but the same policy applies for children under 12 when staying overnight.

Payment Options:
Payment in full is expected 7 days prior to arrival. Accepted methods of payment are: Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, money orders, and travelers’ checks. If paying by cash or personal check, payment must be received 30 days prior to arrival.

Miscellaneous Considerations:
Pets are not appropriate at our inn. We can check with a local kennel if warranted.

Due to the intimate nature of Butterfly Hollow and the owner’s desire for each guest to immerse themselves in its private setting, the Innkeepers do not live onsite. Just a short distance away, they depart each evening and entrust the Hollow to the hands of each guest.
